Hopeless: Chapter 17

What drives us to do such horrific things? Is it power? Fame? Fortune? Or how about my favorite little form of insanity, Love.  Why did you do it? Because you loved her?! Than why is she crying so painfully? That’s how it is supposed to be. What idiocricy to believe that by doing this to me you are helping me! I do not need your help, I can destroy my own self and drive my soul to the ground faster than you can, so why? It was all out of best intentions I do dare say that you caused me this pain and for that I forgive you.
No evidence left, but the stench of burnt flesh. That’s how these battles always end, well at least for demons of their caliber. West gave one last look at the remains of Sam. Poor man didn’t even know what he got himself into. Was that pity that he felt? West shook it off. He had no time to feel these things. It seemed he was becoming weak. “Impossible,” West growled and continued on his path. Brook was his main concern, no one else, nothing else, and a little pity wasn’t going to stop him.  Static sounded from above. “You cause such issues. Why could you just of followed your orders?” It was Austin’s voice on the other side.  “If you have such a problem with it come and get me!” Laughter erupted through the room. “Why waste my time with you, when I have the control of the world in my grasp,” In the background he could hear cruel smooth words as Brook spat insults.  “Brook? Brook!” West screamed but she couldn’t hear him. “She is busy getting ready for our big day,” Confused, West just growled and grabbed a torch from the wall. “Don’t you dare touch her!” Throwing it up at the ceiling, static sounded with the remains of a Goodbye as the voices terminated. How could he be so stupid? He dug his nails into his scalp to ease the rage and disappointment in himself. Finally calmed, he recalled the words that Austin had said. Big Day? The world in his hands? It did not make sense, but then again thinking was not his strong suite. He could not be pondering over such trifle matters when he planned on taking her back before Austin even got the chance, so pushing it to the back of his mind he rushed towards the sounds that echoed off the walls.
Bella’s sobs could be heard through the ricochets of the walls. She needed to stop, gather herself, and clear her mind with only the issue at hand, but she could not, more like she would not. She did not wish to give herself a moment to recall the recent events. Sadly, Bella now tumbled blindly into the monster’s clutches with tears streaming from her eyes. The biggest mistake she could make is to not be the reasonable, responsible, and rational Bella that she was, instead her plan was like mush at the back of her mind and all sense of reason had left her in a heaping mess. Sharp claws dug into her side as she twisted but the pain only became even more unbearable.
“My, my, what do we have here?”  Icy, blue eyes gave way to an even colder smirk upon an unpleasant, egotistic face.
“If it isn’t the little Spanish witch come to save the day. Too bad she did not notice where she was going. Did your little lover boy upset you?” Bella was not a nasty or vicious woman like Brook. She never had the ability to call names or crush people’s spirits but at that moment she wanted to tear him to bits with her well-manicured, Mexican hands.
“Do not dare mock me you poor excuse for a man and an even poorer excuse for a demon?!” He only laughed and snapped his fingers as two huge demonic, ogre looking creature brought a tired, but feisty Brook. When their eyes met, Bella’s control over her emotions was so fragile still that tears burst from her eyes. She had found her and, other than a few bruises, she was ok.
“Isabella? My dear Isabella,” Brook’s words were so sweet, dejected, and regretful. Bella could tell that she was happy to see her, yet she would have been better off had she not of ever came to her rescue.
“Brook Lynn!” Bella attempted to run to her to comfort and express her overwhelming feeling of pure happiness to her beloved friend but the claws dug deeper and instead of tears of joy there was only sheer agony.
“Now, now, we cannot have you giving hope to our beautiful captive can we?” Austin gripped Brook’s face only to be spit at. With slight annoyance, he wiped the liquid away.
“Such bad manners and I thought you taught her better,” He gave Bella a deadly sneer but she only frowned.
“I am glad she never learned,” She attempted to sound strong but her voice cracked and even Brook could sense the grief in it. Brook had turned to her with a smile, so tender, soothing, and everything she needed to bring herself back to reality.  Taking a deep breath, Bella finally gathered herself enough to twist out of her captives grasp. Brook may be drained, but Bella was still energized enough to fight. She gripped the flask she had been carrying in her pocket and tossed to an astounded Austin. His eyes became wide but only for a moment until he realized nothing had occurred.
“We did not study well enough did we?” Bella was shocked. Her spells and potions always worked. This could not be. “You are amazed but in truth I am not just any demon,” He gave a smirk that made her shiver as he approached her. “I have been feeding on the power of that little portal over there,” He pointed to Brook but the confusion still remained. “Oh, you do not know who she is or better to say what she is?” He stepped back just a little but only so much so he could grab her if she decided to run, that was doubtful though.  “Your dearest little monster is but a portal from hell. She is the ancestor of a magnificent witch and a dashing young demon who was destined to be the next ruler of hell,” Austin turned to see Brook’s face was full of unknowing and she shook it in fear of finding out the truth. “This powerful witch had tempted the demon in more ways than one and he planned to devour her soul for himself,” Another pause, “But alas she was such a powerful witch and an enchanting beauty that he developed the human emotion of love,” A demon loving? Creatures of pure evil hold no heart so how could that be. Bella’s pondering gave her a headache which gave amusement to Austin. “Oh yes, it is possible. We are not as invulnerable as you may believe. The highest of demons can fall by such conditions and he was no exception,” Austin sighed. “He threw away the power and gave his everything to this human woman and what came of them is her!”
Cryptic words of a past not clear
In which it seems the truth I fear
I know what was spoken but cannot accept
What lies, I wish I could forget
Do not open your mind, oh so I beg
If I realize the facts that lay ahead
Is my past just a figment of a life of fiction
What seemed so real now insignificant
God in which I have had no faith
Tell me that this is all a fake
I know I have done wrong, fallen from your grace
Does my birth make it so it is too late
Am I of evil origin
Am I soulless and corrupted
Does my heart reside in a pitch black hole
Do I even hold one that is not icy cold
Oh, how I fear what has been spoken
Finally it has slowly soaked in
This is what I have always known
Why I am so cold and all alone
This is why I am Soulless

First of all, I find it amusing you took off your previous rant about love. Two, I really don't feel like going back to the beggining of this story to figure out just what the hell is going on here. Three, I really like talking in points nowadays for some off reason. Four, it's good, but why is there a poem here?
