I
am not forgetful, though I tend to lack the skill to remember. I recall the
happy times in my life and push the others to a dark corner. As you can see, I
am not forgetful but mentally disturbed. Doesn’t that make it much better to
know I can remember I just do not wish to recall such moments in my life. Once
they are hidden, I no longer contain the ability to bring them forth again,
yet, I have not forgotten. All it takes
is a single sentence, a word perhaps, to bring forth the nightmares of my
mental state. Do recognize that there is a reason those blackened parts in my
mind have the shades pulled tight. Be advised that there is more danger in
remembering than you probably know.
Brook dropped, like dead weight, as Austin pointed towards
her. Tormenting migraines hit her like electric waves as her head absorbed all
that he spoke. It was then that she discovered she already knew, that in itself
made her weak and want to wail at the slow mental break down inside. The walls
she had built started to crumble with every little word. Flashes of red,
memories of shadows, laughter, cackling, dismembered bodies, and worst of all,
she saw herself right in the middle of everything. She was a mutt, an outcast,
a creature that was never supposed to be brought into this world.
“What happened to
them?” Bella spoke up in attempt to lift a fallen Brook. “Simple, they died,”
Austin’s gaze filled with burning hatred. He despised all that fell weak to a
simple human emotion. “They died by this child’s hands, figuratively of course,”
Brook’s eyes burned and her blood boiled but her powers were forced down by the
necklace that now chocked her. “The council of hell, yes there is one, gave the
fallen demon a choice,” Austin’s hate rimmed eyes looked at Brook who gave him
a defeated glance in return. “Either he sacrificed his blood for the next ruler
or the child and mother were to be destroyed. Guess what he chose?” Bella
wanted to claw that little cocky, pretty boy’s eyes out for the way he kept
glaring at Brook, but she was just as utterly defenseless as her weak minded
friend. “Of course, Demons lie and they destroyed your mother who happened to
be prepared and had shipped you off somewhere else,” Brook knew where. The two
witches who raised her weren’t her parents, but her loving aunt and uncle who
saw only potential in their half demon niece. Even so, Brook had slaughtered
them as well as probably fifty other people. She let out a scream as she
recalled the white walls stained with her bloody hand prints, the body parts
that flowed in a river of scarlet, and her innocence that now was buried in the
cemetery. Austin gripped her face hard, yanking her drooping body from the
ground just so her legs could quiver in response.
“Guess what happened then? Guess who took your
daddy’s blood and soaked his power up? Do you remember the gun shot? Do you
recall how you ripped apart the only family you had and overflowed your house
with the blood of those that had only cared? You are evil, corrupt, and hopeless. You have no soul!” He tossed her against the wall, flinging her two guards along with
her. She appeared so fragile like a piece of cloth just tossed into a corner
and, with her demonic abilities suppressed, her once perfect caramel skin now
glowed blue and black. He grinned from ear to ear at the idea of being
soulless. “Just like me,” He approached Brook and, this time, lightly lifted
her face. “That is why we belong together. You, with your father’s ruling
blood, and I, with the ability to harness your power, can control not only
hell, but earth as well!” Roughly, he crashed his lips to hers and forced his
tongue down her throat. Brook whimpered in response, yet, she could do nothing
but let him bruise her lips and leave gashes as he nipped her.
“You will never be a
ruler! West will always be better than you! You are just a second rate demon,
chosen because they had no other choice,” Austin stopped dead. He let go of
Brook and her eyes flooded with fear at Bella’s words as she crashed back to
the ground. He turned to see pleasure upon the Spanish witch’s once disoriented
face as she discovered just how deep she had stabbed at his ego. His eyes
became fully black and his body flickered from human to a chilling creature she
couldn’t quite see. Quickening his steps, Austin appeared in front of her and
pulled back his hand.
“That name shall never
be compared to me!” A pop echoed against the walls covering up the scream of
horror from the green eyed captive. Bella resided motionless on the floor as
her heart beat slowed drastically and blood flowed around her head. She
appeared like a rag doll or a dead body found in a crime scene, though she
wasn’t dead yet. Brook ran to Bella’s side and turned her blood drenched head
to the side slowly. There was a noticeable crack in her skull and her beautiful
black, blue hair was matted by crimson.
“Isabella? Please wake
up. Don’t leave me,” Brook cried into the crook of her neck as she held her
close, afraid to move her too suddenly for she knew a concussion was
unavoidable. Once she had gathered herself, she placed her head back down away
from the puddle of blood and with the crack facing upwards. Brook rose from her
place on the ground and gave a one eighty degree turn to face a pleased Austin.
Her hands, now ruby colored, came from her side as her eyes fogged. She
imagined his body lying in a puddle of his own juices and suffering just like
Emma had, just like Bella was now and it was actually working. He could feel
the nightly liquid in his body try to burst from his pores but before she could
do anything the necklace gripped tighter, trapping the air in her lungs and
causing her to black out. She fell to the floor but was caught by small hands.
“Take the witch away
and tend to her. I want her to be strong enough to see her end,” Sike had saved
his adoptive mother as he had just happened to escape from his own guards
grasp. “Take that one to his room and this time don’t let him escape or you’ll
be cleaning up your ashes!” Sike brought Brook slowly to lay her down before
the two hideous creatures could take him away. They grabbed him roughly and out
of either anger for Brook or for himself being so weak, he flipped on them.
“LEAVE ME ALONE!” Sike growled,
burning off their hands as they shrieked in agonizing calls. He turned back to
a surprised, but not fearful, Austin. “Don’t you dare hurt her!” He ran towards
him without any concern about just what he was going up against. There was no
possible way Sike would manage a fight against Austin no matter who sired him,
but just as Sike got close enough a door banged open causing them both to stop
dead in their tracks.
